John Denver, a singer-songwriter who hails from Colorado who was a specialist in folk pop music brought joy to millions. Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. was born in Roswell, New Mexico. He fell in love with Colorado and moved to Aspen. Denver's famous songs about his new home state have inspired many people to move to Colorado. G. Brown, curator of Colorado Music Hall of Fame declared it was because John Denver is the only musician to truly embody Colorado. Denver was the first Hall of fame ever to be a member. Denver has become the image of Colorado for many people around the world. It is a fact that when I travel you come across someone from another end of the planet, someone who is from New Zealand and you say "I'm from Colorado and the first word that comes out of their mouth is Oh John Denver! Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads was co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief involvement with folk bands it was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff had written the song in the spirit of Johnny Cash, but Denver discovered an early version and knew it would eventually become a Top 10 hit. The singer recorded the song only a few days afterward before performing the song to crowds that were enthralled at Washington D.C.
